“Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage—with great patience and careful instruction.”

2 Timothy 4:2

“Those who wait on the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”

Isaiah 40:31

“ For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

Jerimiah 29:11

I began attending the Church of Christ in mid-1979. I was subsequently baptized on November 19th, by the current Church Evangelist and Pastor Glen Bias.  A little later on, Glen also officiated my marriage to my wife Mary. For over 20 years I taught the youth group in Sunday School, and somewhere in those years, I was ordained by the then-church Elders Paul Giffin Senior, Al Mattern, and Wayne Thompson.

The youth group was a pleasure to work with in and out of Sunday School. Together we developed a Drama Club and presented plays based on Bible history. At one time we took the play of the crucifixion to Glen Bias’ church up near Columbia County.

Another of my early fond memories from that time period was going to the Church Camp, Elkhorn Valley in Bergholz to play softball every Sunday through the summer and early fall.

One of my favorite verses of the Bible is found in John 8:12 where it states:

"Jesus is the Light of the World!"

As a young person in another church, I was required to learn and recite this verse over and over, along with several other verses.

I grew up at this church since I was born. I always attended Sunday School and Junior Worship. I am a proud graduate of Harrison Central. I have been a Deacon for two years.

“ This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters.”

1 John 3:16

“Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone.”
“But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength, they will soar on wings like eagles, they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”
